Calatagan, Batangas Quick Get Away

29th June, 2022

Dearest J,

Not so long ago we went to Calatagan, Batangas and had a great fun! It was a quick way to refresh and recharge, although it took us 3-4 hours to finally settle in our stop because we decided to drive in to couple of places before booking our accommodation assuming there are many places to choose from.

Welcome to Calatagan, Batangas

We then picked to stay at Edna’s Beach and Campsite, we were greeted by the guard at the gate and checked the availability before allowing us to get in the premises, unlike the first hotel we drove in such protocol was not in place.

Edna’s Beach and Campsite is actually a decent place to stay in Calatagan. They are on the beachfront, they have canteen, and cool accommodation choices. I chose to stay in one of their Kubo with my family, however if you are seeking for more adventure you may stay at one of their tent. Once settled, my son jumped in and play in the sand, he built sand castle and soak himself a bit at the shore.

Since we only brought snacks and refreshments we bought food at their canteen, I must compliment them on how neat they prepared the food when served. Mind you though that they have a cut off time, otherwise you are free to bring in your own food or even cook there.

The kubo where we stayed in doesn’t have a bathroom so you have to walk not so far if you need to use the loo or even to take a shower, I was alright except for older fellow who finds walking in the middle of the night annoying HAHA!

The next day we rented the boat going to this place called “Little Boracay”, the trip includes Sand bar, Little Boracay, and Snorkeling. We ordered Boodle Fight food for lunch at the resort’s canteen to bring on board and the ride from the resort going to those places is about 15-20 minutes. Sadly sandbar was hidden by the tide so we just swam over it. We swam for about an hour and a half, we had ice cream on stick, and some people were selling fresh sea urchin which my aunt and father had for appetizer. After lunch we then headed to the snorkeling site and had a marvelous time swimming and admiring the beauty under the water, the best highlight of this trip was at the snorkeling site and we all wished that we stayed there longer.

It was absolutely an adventure and fun at the same time specially when shared with your family. Until next time J.

xoxo,

Vern
